Steps for trouble shooting memory:
- If the system is operational, run the appropriate diagnostic test to determine the faulty module.
- If the system is not operational, turn off the system and attached peripherals, and unplug the system from the power source and reseat all memory modules.
- If the system is still not operational, turn off the system, unplug the system from the power source and replace each module one at a time using the same DIMM slot for each module, reapplying power and attempting the boot process until the faulty module is determined.
- If all memory modules pass then a suspected DIMM slot is the issue.
- Turn off the system, unplug the system from the power source and one module at a time, populating each DIMM slot incrementally reapplying power and attempting the boot process until the faulty DIMM slot on the motherboard is determined.
